boinc-client software package provides core client for the BOINC distributed computing infrastructure, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install boinc-client
boinc-client is installed in your system.
Make ensure the boinc-client package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep boinc-client *
You will get with boinc-client package name, version, architecture and description in a table
